Places to visit - We recommend you to visit some places in Bucharest. At first view the architecture of the city is a mixture of old and new with different and interesting influences.
If you are looking for Romanian tradition, there are two very special places: the open-air Village Museum and the Romanian Peasant's Museum. In the Village Museum you will see real peasant houses in a wonderful scenery while in the Romanian Peasant's Museum you will find out an impressive collection of old objects and a magnificent building.
You can also visit the Art Museum, the Collection Museum, the Museum of Natural Sciences "Grigore Antipa", the Museum of History. In the Collection Museum you can admire paintings and art objects belonging to different art collectors.
The churches of Bucharest are famous and many of them are very old: Stavropoleos Church, Domnita Balasa and St. Elefterie Church.
If you feel like walking, there are a lot of parks: Herastrau - with beautiful agreement places and long green alleys, the Botanical Garden, Tineretului Park or Cismigiu Garden.
During the year, Bucharest is a host for international art festivals: "George Enescu" International Classical Music Festival, the Theatre Festival, the Cinema Days. The Romanian Athenaeum hosts many concerts with famous soloists from all over the world.
Visiting the old side of the town offers an interesting contrast with the crowded places of downtown. You will be amazed of the old atmosphere of Covaci and Lipscani streets. There you can also shop beautiful handcraft souvenirs and traditional old objects.
Last but not least you can visit the districts of old houses around the Romanian Television and the Cismigiu Garden.
